Having interned during college, I felt that I was really making an informed, confident career decision when I graduated and moved to LA. No book, film, or friend can tell you enough about what it is like to work in entertainment compared to what you can learn firsthand by doing it yourself. With my internship I found a job I loved, a boss who taught me tons, and went back to school senior year with a renewed purpose and goal for after graduation. Interning while concurrently taking Heidi's class was the best-case scenario, as she taught me the tools and resources I needed to understand the world of Hollywood and how I fit into it.

When I arrived in LA to start my first internship in the entertainment industry, I was clueless about Hollywood and how it worked. Heidi's instruction provided the ideal supplement to what I was learning in my internship, and helped me to understand how all components of the industry were related. Her guidance was - and continues to be - an invaluable resource in navigating through "the biz", and one that I still draw upon in my current position as an assistant in the drama development department at CBS. The internship program provided me with the background I needed to make a knowledgeable decision to pursue a career in entertainment. It helped me to discover my passion for the field, and is the reason I am happily living and working in LA today.

The LA Internship Program was an eye-opening, comprehensive introduction to life in the entertainment industry. My internship was intensive and instructive, giving me a realistic look at Hollywood. Heidi is a wonderful mentor and advisor. In addition to her extremely helpful attitude, she never sugar-coated things for us, which allowed us to face our Hollywood experiences realistically. It can be a tough industry, but Heidi helped us to thicken our skin and deal competently with difficult situations.

Heidi tells it like it is. She understands what makes this industry tick and her program empowers those who are ready and willing to learn. The class dynamic inherently provides a broad perspective of the film industry. Heidi's no-nonsense approach provides her students with the tools necessary for making the most of any situation, building and maintaining contacts and most importantly understanding your individual strengths as young professionals in the Hollywood scene. But beyond what she has to give in class, Heidi is always available to help in anyway she can. As a contact, she's resourceful; as a teacher, she's insightful; as a friend, she's one of a kind.
